Juan Carlos Castilla Rho

Juan is a transdisciplinary systems modeler working at the interface of environmental management and computational social science. He combines numerical modeling, social simulation, and systems thinking to better understand the dynamics between people and the environment. Juan’s research focuses on developing interactive systems and management tools to improve the ability of stakeholders to reason, explain, design, communicate, and explore solutions in situations fraught with wicked problems. From Chile, Juan was originally trained in civil engineering. He went on to earn graduate degrees in water resources and hydrology. He lives on the east coast of Australia.
