Leslie Roberson is a PhD student at University of Queensland in Australia, where she is researching fisheries interactions as key drivers of extinction risk for marine vertebrate species. She is working with Chris Wilcox to develop and implement a technique to provide lost-cost location data on vessel activities in the marine environment using information from ships’ existing navigation radar systems. The goal of the project is to gain a better understanding of the distribution and dynamics of activities in the coastal and offshore marine estate.
